bolivia’s anniversary - top 3 places to visit in this beautiful country

August 2024

The first time I arrived in Bolivia was in 2009. To be honest, I didn’t know much about the country. I had heard about La Paz, and we were going to some kind of salt desert, but that was it. I arrived in La Paz and was immediately impressed by the people, the views, and the overall atmosphere of the city.

It was something new, something I had never seen before. Over the years I've spent in Bolivia, the country never stops surprising me.

There are so many unknown places to explore in this country that is still very unexplored—a real hidden gem.

We will talk more about these hidden beautiful places in another blog post. Today, we are going to talk about three places that should not be missed while exploring this beautiful country.

Titicaca Lake and Isla del Sol

Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere that make it perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature.

The beautiful Isla del Sol, with its ancient Inca ruins and traditional villages, provides an unforgettable cultural experience where you can explore the island's rich history.

Visiting Lake Titicaca gives you the chance to connect with local communities and witness stunning sunsets over the peaceful waters

Madidi and the Amazon

Madidi National Park, located in the Amazon, is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, offering an incredible variety of wildlife and landscapes. Exploring this rainforest provides a unique opportunity to see exotic animals, vibrant plants, and learn about the traditional cultures of the indigenous people.

Visiting the Amazon and Madidi National Park gives you the chance to connect with nature, experience thrilling adventures, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the jungle.

The Salt Desert

The Uyuni Salt Flats, the largest in the world, offer a surreal and stunning landscape that makes you feel like you're walking on the sky.

This white desert creates incredible photo opportunities, especially during the rainy season when it reflects the sky like a giant mirror.

Visiting the Uyuni Salt Flats gives you the chance to explore unique geological formations, stay in salt hotels, and witness one of the most breathtaking natural wonders on Earth.

On the 6th of August, we are celebrating Independence Day all over the country. If you are in La Paz on this day and not traveling, we recommend you visit our sister restaurant, Tambo, where you can eat, feel, and live the culture of Bolivia.

Try on traditional clothing, play Bolivian games, and best of all, try Bolivian food and drinks!
