This week in this blog, we’re talking about La Paz and souvenir shopping!
For many travelers, souvenir shopping is a beautiful part of the trip; for others, it’s not that important.
But whether you're a shopper or not, it's always nice to spend some time exploring the traditional handicrafts a country has to offer. Personally, I love it! From all my trips around the world, I always end up filling my backpack with both necessary and not-so-necessary items.
One of the coolest things I ever bought was a didgeridoo in Alice Springs, Australia.
After a lot of trouble carrying it, I decided to send it to Sweden for a little rest. When it finally arrived, I had to pay so many fees and taxes that it became very expensive and I didn’t even have a good place to put it! But after spending all that money, I decided to send it again, this time to Bolivia.
Now it finally has its place in Café del Mundo in the Oceania section! We've actually had a few travelers who managed to play the instrument
Ok, so back to souvenir shopping in La Paz! The best streets for souvenir shopping in La Paz are Sagarnaga and Linares Street.
At first look, the stores might seem to sell the same things, but when you step inside, you’ll find lots of unique and cool items. In recent years, a lot of young artists have been selling their own creative work in the area, which is really fun to explore.
