sustainable adventures
August 2024
A lot of my traveling through the world was done by bus, across countries and continents.
I traveled and worked for a Swedish overland company (rosabussarna.se) that starts their journeys in one place, depending on the trip you choose, and travels through different countries to their final destination.
They operate in Africa, Europe, South America, and Asia. This company started its first trip from Stockholm all the way to India by bus. Even though this trip is not possible today because of conflicts in different parts, they are still doing many trips, especially in Africa.
The longest overland trip I did was from Stockholm through Europe, Western Africa, and to Kinshasa in the Congo, all by bus in 6 months. We stopped at small restaurants, bought food in local markets, and purchased traditional souvenirs, always supporting the small communities we passed through.
That was sustainable travel without even thinking about it. Through this way of traveling, we came closer to the locals and gained deeper knowledge and experience of the environment around us, which was beautiful!
Here, we have created a free guide with small tips and ideas on how to travel more sustainably in and around Bolivia
Often, it's not about big changes; it's the small ones and making them a habit. It's even better when you realize that these small changes are easy to make and inspire others to do the same.
We have made the hashtag #GreenBolivia to use when you take small steps for a greener Bolivia. Let's take these steps together and start today!
